Get Married in the Bay of Islands
New Zealand destination weddings are very scenic and extremely memorable, whether they are held in a beautiful resort or on a secluded white sand beach or in a vineyard or a picturesque and scented subtropical garden.
A honeymoon in the Bay of Islands allows you to take advantage of the unique attractions and the many water sports that are available including surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, big game fishing, parasailing, swimming with dolphins, and others.
Waitangi Treaty Groundsis a site of historical significance because this is where a treaty was signed between the British crown and the indigenous Maori people. Added to the history and culture and artifacts displays explained by a knowledgeable guide, the people put on an impressive cultural performance with a mix of Maori songs and dances. You can also go by the Treaty House and see the largest war canoe in New Zealand as well as the remains of a Kauri tree.
Haruru Falls may be a small waterfall, but it is still a spectacular and impressive sight to see with its lovely blue turquoise water and sometimes locals jumping off the rocks on the side. You can come upstream by boat, or they are not far off the main road and are an easy walk to the falls. Simply drive to the top of the waterfalls, park, and walk the footpath above the falls.

A destination wedding can be a much more affordable alternative to a traditional lavish wedding. Many places offer complete wedding packages which often includes an on-site wedding consultant to help you with all of the special details of your wedding.
Another great reason to have a destination wedding is the ability to have a smaller guest list. Instead of planning for hundreds of people you will have only close friends and family who are willing to make the trip out to your destination for your wedding.
Although a destination wedding is a more affordable option for the bride and groom, it does come at a higher cost to your guests. A small, intimate guest list will allow you to share your special day with the people who really mean the most to you.
Many couples who choose a destination wedding, also opt to combine their wedding location with their honeymoon dream. Get married in a stunning location, and then continue the celebrations in the same spot or enjoy the duration of your trip at a nearby resort.
